The department of Phonetics and Linguistics at University College London appears to be no exception to the UK rule that “phonetics” is somehow really important and separate from “linguistics” (apparently, they used to be separate departments, which explains the name). The program claims to have strengths in both articulatory and experimental phonetics, as well as the rest of theoretical linguistics… and did they mention phonetics?
