6.3.1 What to do before interviews

• Find out what the professor’s research interests are, and what they teach.
• Look on the school website for a list of required courses.
• Read a paper, or at least glance, at a paper that the professor recently wrote.
• Ask others, if you can ask discretely, about the professor. What kind of person he/she is, what his/her interests and any pet peeves he/she has.
